necessary skills to participate at their full potential within the community.
Meet Our Staff
Deborah Prentiss
Deb is a Co-Founder of Rising Stars Academy. Her favorite movie is Sandlot, her dream travel destination is a European river cruise, her favorite food is seafood, and her favorite Detroit sports team is the Tigers. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and sitting by water.
Chef Mark
Mark is the Co-Founder and Chef/Educator at Rising Stars Academy. His favorite movie is Happy Gilmore, he would love to travel to Australia, his favorite food is Farm-to-plate, and his favorite Detroit sports team is the Tigers. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, his wife, and working.
Marsha Salome
Marsha Salome is the Administrative Assistant in the main office at Rising Stars Academy. She and her husband have three children. Their youngest attends RSA. Marsha enjoys spending time at home with her family, gardening, and working with students. Some of Marsha’s favorite things are chocolate, sunshine, and salads!
Emily Bregier
Emily Bregier is our Superintendent and has been part of Rising Stars Academy since 2015. She previously served as the school's transition coordinator and one of our special education teachers. Emily is certified in special education and elementary education, has a masters degree in Educational Leadership, and will soon receive her Education Specialist Certificate in Special Education Administration and Supervision through Wayne State University. Since 2008, Emily has worked with individuals with disabilities, serving as a camp counselor for teenagers and adults with disabilities, caregiving, and teaching. She lives in Ferndale with her dog Wilma and enjoys art, paddleboarding, hiking, and watching documentaries.
